Hello Lovelies,
A friend and I were conversing last week through email and she happened to mention the weather in Lagos at the moment.
It has been really hot in Lagos this month of October, It seems like the harmattan season is coming in really fast this year.
The sun is hot at 29C by the way. Joining the hustle and bustle that ensures on the street of Lagos might fell like 10 times more work than it usually does.
My friend was telling me about how the sun was really slowing her down when she goes out to run errands and how the sun was making her laundry much more than usual and how dark her skin was looking.
This got me thinking about how the sun affects me persona;;y, I spend most of my time indoors and I try to avoid going out for lunch during working hours , all in a bid to avoid this sun. I find that these arre not comfortable lifestyle choices for me, my health and my sense of well being, so I made a list of things to help me have a better experince with the sun. These items have helped me to feel better everyday.
First I bought a jar of Palmers Cocoa Butter and Camay Lotion.
Cocoa Butter is very good for your skin during the hot and dry season because it keeps your skin well moisturized through out the day. I really love the smell and the texture of cocoa butter on my skin.
For a sronger perfumey scent, I also bought the new Camay moisturizer that has been on billboards and Brt buses this past week.
Camay smells really amazing and has a great texture on your skin. I bought the tube for N350 at a beauty supply store in Palms. When choosing moisturizers, look for one with a creamy textures and adequate moisture. This helps to protect your skin from dryness and flaking.
Another thing that is important is a pair of sunglasses and a bottle of water.
Too much exposure to the sun can affect your eyes. A pair of dark shade will help you to protect your eyes from the sun rays.
You can take it up a notch by getting a stylish pair of sunglasses. Also a bottle of water will help keep you hydrated through out the day.
Last thing is a good attitude.
Sweating causes skin irritation which can affect your mood. also, the hot sun can make your head hot and your blood boil. Try your best to keep a big smile on your face in whatever situation you encounter or you find yourself in.
